Here she is!

It is with great excitement that we introduce Miss Miah!

After 20 months, 3 weeks and 5 days we received a call from the adoption agency that they had a child for us. I was told they had just sent all her information via e-mail, so I quickly went to the computer. However, the file did not come through. The agency had our e-mail address typed in wrong so it took another hour before they figured it all out. That was the longest hour ever!

From that point we had about 24 hours to find medical professionals to view her records and make a decision. That's when God started opening doors for us. I took a chance and called a surgeon in Vancouver and can you believe it...he called back in 15 minutes???Then I called a specialist here in Kelowna and when I was put through to her voice mail (I was told she was not in), she just happened to be at her desk and picked up the phone! I was given very clear information about what she may have to face once we get her home and felt confident that we could care for her here within our community. And above all that...we have PEACE! We have found our daughter at last! Miah is 19 months old and we hope to travel sometime this summer to bring her home!

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29: 11-13

20 months!

March 2 marked the 20th month since our paperwork has been sent to China. The last couple of months have been a bit of a roller coaster ride. We were able to view another child's file this past month and once again had our hopes lifted up. However, her needs were much more than we had anticipated and a house with three floors and lots of stairs was not in this little one's best interest. So, we continue to wait.
