3 More Days!

Today I am proud of my husband. Today he is one of the bravest men I know. Today he is my hero! We dropped him off this afternoon at the Airport for his flight to Vancouver. The next time we see him will be on the 24th when we pick him and Miah up in Vancouver. I will continue to be proud of him...as I watch him carry our new daughter in his arms. I love you Drew! You are a great Daddy! (Side note on my parenting ability...we got all the way to the airport only to discover that Madison was not wearing any shoes!!!)

Tomorrow he will meet his parents at the airport bright and early tomorrow morning. We are doing some last minute packing and I am actually glad I don't have to worry about packing for the girls and I ...there is so much to pack already without us adding our belongings. Drew thanks everyone for the well wishes...he is nervous but excited.

4 Days!

Today we got an update. Drew will meet Miah at 10:00 am China time (So that would be 7:00 pm local time on Sunday night!) How am I ever going to make it through the KDC training night? I think my mom is going to come over and watch over the computer for me!

6 More Days!

6 more days (or should I say 6 more sleeps) until Drew gets to meet Miah! The countdown is on! This morning we made sure both web cams are working as well as the mics. We are hopeful that we will be able to communicate through our computers while Drew is travelling and to be able to watch Miah as she plays in the hotel room! I think the girls and I will be having a late night on Sunday waiting for those first images to arrive!

2 Years Today!

Two years ago today the CCAA received our completed dossier. At that time we were expecting to wait about one year for a referral...how things have changed since then. However, God knew that just two months later our daughter would be born. Drew and his parents leave for China in 8 more days! Today we spent the day buying last minute items needed for travel and touching up the paint in Miah and Mackenzie's room.

A Beautiful friendship

This morning I received the most perfect(if you know I love hair bows) and beautiful gift for Miah. I thought it must be from my secret pal from a swap I am involved with through a yahoo group of other adoptive moms, but I was informed that my secret sister did not send this gift. So...I started digging a little deeper and found out that this was sent to me by my new friend Paige from Edmonton. We have never met, but I am honored to call her friend. She has also recently adopted a beautiful 2 year old from China and we met online during this process. One day I hope to meet in person and watch our girls play together!

I can't wait to fill it with hair bows for Miah (Colleen you better get busy) and I can't wait to try out some bows on Miah!

Thanks Paige!

We are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!

Last night we received our travel outline. It is confirmed that Drew will meet Miah on the morning of July 13th! (July 12th early evening Kelowna time.) The hotel in Nanjing has Internet access so Drew will send photos for me to post when all is official! It all seems so surreal after waiting and hoping for her all these years! She is finally coming home!
