We finally have a set date for Miah's next surgery-June 1st. 4 weeks from today. We are still not exactly sure what all will be done, but we do know that it will include a nose revision, some touch ups on her palate and possibly replacing the tubes in her ears. For the next two weeks we are pretty much booked solid with visits to the plastic surgeon, orthodontist, ENT, a hearing test, speech therapy and a pre-op hospital appointment.
I'm sure this round of surgery will bring with it anxiety on Miah's part. She is fully aware that the possibility of needles exist and that sometimes doctors make owies in her mouth. I pray that they let me bring her into the OR again. But maybe now that she is older, I might not be invited in. Please be praying that this next stage in her surgery plan will go smoothly and that she will bounce back to her normal self quickly.
Oh, she's precious and growing up so quickly! I'll be praying for this next round of surgery. I can imagine it's a bit tougher when they are older and have some understanding of it all.
ReplyDeleteI will be praying that they allow you back with Miah...
ReplyDeleteAs a mom who just had to experience a surgery with a 2-year old, my thoughts and prayers are with you. It's a stressful time for everyone involved.
ReplyDeleteMy friend's son had surgery and he's 5 and they let one parent go in with the child, so I'm hoping they let you go in with Miah. It was hard to leave our daughter in the OR, but I felt better knowing that we were there for her when they put her under.
We will be thinking of Miah!
It is a lot of appointments and gets tiring pretty fast, but will be well worth it in the end.
ReplyDeleteMake sure you use emla (sp?) so the needle doesn't hurt so much.
I will be praying all goes well.
We will definitely be praying...that Miah will not have anxiety about it, that you will be allowed to go in with her, and for a speedy (non painful) recovery for your sweet girl. We will be in China then...i'll be honest and say i'm not sure if i'll remember to pray that day, so i'll do lots of 'pre-prayer' for you instead! :)
ReplyDeleteGayle :)
I will be praying for Miah. God is good.
